BELL INN & HILL HOUSE

Built about 1685 Hill House was a prestigious residence in the village centre undergoing alteration and development in this role until 1986. An extensive renovation of the property provided a private dining room seating 36 and 10 bedrooms including a converted stable block.

More recently, four suites have been added to the established bedrooms. All are situated in The Bell and reflect their names (historically famous mistresses!) in their lavish, individual decor. All 16 bedrooms have been individually designed to offer a combination of modern amenities along with the character and personality that reflects the establishment's sharp contrast to the faceless and featureless chains.

The two bars offer a wide selection of well kept real ales. The guest beer changes every few days and last year 144 different cask ales were sold. The Bell restaurant offers a full menu (also available in the bar) that changes daily. Our commitment to quality dishes using only fresh produce has been recognised in awards for a number of dedicated chefs. The restaurant remains in great demand, engendering a bustling, cosmopolitan atmosphere, but also making booking necessary.
